Rua dos Lusíadas

TANAGRA built this condominium on Rua dos Lusíadas in Alcântara in a perfect balance between history and modernity. This project by Atelier Central Arquitectos is the result of rehabilitating a period building from 1891, made with the Gaioleiro system, which combines the original tiled façade with a contemporary extension and two underground floors for parking.

This highly complex intervention resulted in the construction of a building with six floors above ground, consisting of 14 housing units and one commercial space, totalling more than 1550 m². The project stands out for its zinc roof and the new exposed concrete volume, a material that extends throughout the building, including the ceilings of the apartments and the walls and outer space at the back.
